As the name no doubt hints, homemade crêpes are the stars (many local rags regard these as the "best in town"), and the skilled chef stuffs them with everything from salmon, ham, and Gruyere cheese to scallions, potatoes, and sautéed veggies. Friendly, Parisian-esque service and a comfortable lounge make this an easy fave of Capitol Hill's young, hip crowd.

BELLEVUE. Tucked away in an unassuming strip mall, Andre's is a unique find. Its eclectic menu takes cues from European and Asian cuisines, and the sleek, open space includes a romantic fireplace, making the restaurant a great place for a date. Tempting dishes include Asian crab ravioli, Algerian lamb, turmeric-lemongrass chicken, and Eurasian pork tenderloin, simmered in a curry marsala-ginger sauce. Noodle, pasta, and vegetarian dishes are also delicious.

BELLEVUE. This simple, elegant bistro offers an appealing mix of American favorites with a menu showing influences from France, Italy, and South America. The minimal décor is serene and upscale with white tablecloths, neutral colors, and candlelight. Start with a bottle of wine from a list of more than 100, and then try an entrée such as roast duck with cranberry sauce and veal sirloin in wild mushroom sauce. The dessert selection changes daily, but look for the highly recommended pecan pie. Reservations recommended.

BELLTOWN. Filled with rich wood accents, snowy white tablecloths, and elegant table settings, this restaurant offers Northwest-influenced French classics in a comfortable, relaxed atmosphere. Start with the soup du jour; French onion soup, rich with caramelized onions and gruyère cheese, is a comforting favorite. A grilled sea scallop brochette, served over warm chorizo-potato salad, and a giant mushroom ravioli with white truffle cream are indicative of the menu's breadth. Traditional dishes like coq au vin, beef bourguignonne, and steak frites arrive with delicious sides and don't disappoint. Save room for tiramisu profiteroles or the crème brûlée of the month!

DOWNTOWN. If you can't get a reservation for lunch or dinner at Campagne and still want to experience the award-winning, bistro-style restaurant, then try the café for breakfast. You can't go wrong, and you can visit the Market while in the area. A quintessential Parisian decor provides a delightful backdrop for a fine morning meal, including freshly squeezed orange juice and steaming coffee. Try French toast made with brioche and bourbon egg batter or a fluffy omelet stuffed with potatoes and laced with rosemary.
